Some of the Best Pizzas in Sheffield

Whatever your preference, we can all agree there are fewer delights in the world than a box of warm pizza on your lap.

It’s basically circular happiness, however asymmetry is often a sign of quality and we can promise it will be love at first slice. So we’ve toured the streets to bring you some of the Best Pizzas in Sheffield.

Craft and dough

As the name suggested Craft & Dough specialise in all things pizza and craft beer. With three shops across the city they’ve clearly got the recipe just right.  For us, a good thin base with plenty of fresh ingredients is the only way to go. Craft & Dough hit both nails on the head with a thin stone baked base and seasonal produce that is locally sourced. They also have gluten-free dough available as well as a vegan options on request.

Forge Bakehouse

Day in day out the Forge crew are busy baking up daily treats in their Abbeydale Road bakery, but from time to time they fire up their oven and make what we can only describe as a the best sourdough pizza we’ve ever had. And to top it all off they join forces with their neighbours, Turners beer shop who not only provide the much needed extra seating but they sell the perfect liquid accompaniment for every pizza…beer.   Getting your hands on them is another matter entirely.

Italian Uno

Any Italian worth its sauce will know how to make a good pizza and Italian Uno is no exception. A combination of a thin and crisp base with fresh ingredients always makes it a winner. If you’re a veggie or vegan you’ve got a few choices but we’d always go for the ‘Vegetariana’, fresh mozzarella and tomato topped with seasonal vegetables. For those meat eaters we’d recommend the ‘Piccante’, Tomato, mozzarella, pepperoni, peppers, chilli, oregano & olive oil.

Bloo88 is a buzzing and vibrant bar/restaurant on the busy West Street. Although their menu is vast, tasty-looking and comprehensive, we personally recommend asking their welcoming staff what they recommend and, who knows, you may have found your new favourite pizza. Oven roasted butternut squash, goat’s cheese, toasted pine nuts topped with mozzarella or vegan cheese upon request.

Gigis Cucina

Gigi’s Cucina is a family-run, authentic Italian restaurant situated a stones throw from Ecclesall Road and oh boy is it worth seeking out.  Using local ingredients, Gigi’s creates a belly-rumbling array of pizzas and we’re pretty certain that all of the hardcore pizza aficionados among you will be pleasantly surprised.
