Pom Kitchen

Keeping up with Sheffield’s ever changing landscape is proving hard. Each month there’s a new this and a new that but Sheffield’s latest addition to its already vibrant independent scene might just be what we’ve all been waiting for. So it’s our pleasure to introduce you to the wonderful Pom Kitchen.

Owner Zora and her team are incredibly passionate people who genuinely just want people to come and have a good time and believe their unpretentious approach will keep them coming back forever more. But for us at Independent Sheffield, there are few things more exciting than a new independent opening and we highly anticipate our first encounter and Pom Kitchen did not disappoint.

The charming Sharrow Vale Road is home to a row of pretty-looking independents interspersed between residential terraces and the odd disgruntled traffic warden, but offers the perfect respite away from the humdrum of Eccy road. Whilst it’s already worth a visit, the news that Pom Kitchen has now opened makes it all the more irresistible. Pom is an Australian inspired all day veggie and vegan eatery with a menu dedicated to producing clean, natural vegetarian food that can be enjoyed at any time of the day. The name originated from pompoms, and is a fun and playful way to pay homage to the humble celebratory act that’s got us doing backflips all the way to the touchline.

Upon walking in you’re greeted with a smile, the smell of freshly ground coffee and the faint pink glow from the wall of neon. You stand speechless at how clear and eloquent it is! It is a stunning, non-arrogant display of their confidence, creativity and their fresh produce that gives a striking first impression. The whole interior is purposely bright, with a small wall garden and neon light providing an abstract centrepiece for the cafe. On the back of the menu, they proudly feature owner Zora’s partners artwork which is absolutely stunning and really ties together the fresh, creative vibe together.

The Sharrow Vale community has always provided us with great variety and we feel that since Pom opened, Sheffield has taken them under their wing and they have settled in rather nicely. Check their website, follow them on Twitter, Instagram and give them a like on Facebook. Cardholders will be pleased to know they can get 10% off at all times.
